Speech-Language Evaluation
Our comprehensive speech and language evaluations are designed to understand your child as a whole—not just their test scores. Each evaluation begins with gathering detailed background information and listening closely to parent concerns and insights. We value your perspective and see you as an essential part of the process.
During the evaluation, we engage your child through clinical observation and carefully selected assessment tools tailored to their individual needs. Depending on what is most appropriate, this may include play-based measures, rating scales, and/or standardized testing. By combining multiple sources of information, we develop a clear, well-rounded understanding of your child’s communication strengths and areas of need.
Our goal is to provide meaningful, practical recommendations that support your child’s growth and confidence in communication.
Most comprehensive speech and language evaluations are typically scheduled for approximately one hour. This allows adequate time to gather background information, administer standardized and informal assessment measures, observe communication skills, and discuss initial impressions and next steps.
Please note that the exact length may vary slightly depending on the individual’s age, needs, and areas of concern.
